Gustavus Alumni, Parents, and Friends,
My name is Suzanne Boda, and I have been a member of the Gustavus Board of Trustees since 2016. I am pleased to serve as the Chair of the Gustavus Presidential Search Committee. I graduated from the College in 1982 with an individualized major in Asian studies and a major in Spanish and spent my career in the airline industry, recently retiring as Senior Vice President responsible for operations and strategic planning for American Airlines in Los Angeles.
Since the announcement in April of President Rebecca Bergman’s upcoming retirement at the end of the 2024-25 academic year, the Board of Trustees and on-campus community have been preparing for the official launch of the Presidential Search. Our search consultants from AGB Search spent a week on campus in early May and hosted over a dozen listening sessions with students, faculty, staff, and alumni leaders. Following the listening sessions and the first meeting of the Presidential Search Committee, AGB Search used our community’s input to draft the search prospectus for our next President. The prospectus was reviewed by the Presidential Search Committee and Board of Trustees leadership, and feedback from these groups was used to inform the final version.

Summer marks the quiet phase of the Presidential Search Committee’s work as AGB Search spends the rest of June, July, and August fielding inquiries and encouraging applications. The Search Committee will meet at the end of August before beginning to review applications.
